Program Overview

Overview - The Capital Wrestling Club (CWC) offers programs for wrestlers of various ages, skills, and experience. If you are interested in one of them the first step is to register.  CWC also rents space to other programs.  If you are participating in one of these other programs (also listed below), you should contact the program directly to register or with questions.


Wrestling practice takes place on a regulard schedule throughout the year and various frequency depending on what program is best suited for your age and experience. The schedule can always be found on the website. The practices emphasize different techniques and strategy throughout the year.

CWC Programs

  1. Novice – for beginner wrestlers typically 5 years and older. Fun introduction to wrestling. For kids with limited to no experience.
  2. Level 1 Elementary/early Middle School – for experienced wrestlers 8 years and older through early middle school. Competition experience is encouraged in order to attend these practices. The coaches will keep these practices faster paced and start to introduce more advanced techniques and wrestling strategy.
  3. Level 1 High School/late Middle School – for the inexperienced high school wrestlers who need to continue working on their fundamentals or are new to the sport. Older middle schoolers with limited to no experience should also join this group.
  4. Level 2 Advanced/select Middle School – our most advanced group. Designed for wrestlers who practice on a year around frequency and have qualified for their state tournament at a minimum. Spring and summer sessions will be oriented towards freestyle and Greco wrestling.
